BRAVE UP! Get to Know Our Software
How Brave Up! works: We collect student data through a short in-class survey. This data is combined with the school’s demographic and other related data to predict bullying and cyberbullying cases in real time.
Our patent-pending technology invites students to answer a short arcade-like survey, which gives us data to create correlations between them and make predictions on how their social interactions will evolve.
Educators, and especially the counseling team, can use our software to get insights into student relationships both in the classroom and the online world.
The Survey Questions
Our dedicated team of sociologists and psychologists spent a great deal of effort researching different sources to create the student questionnaire.
Through these questions, students become active witnesses of microaggressions, bullying, and cyberbullying without them feeling like they are ‘snitching’ on their classmates. Our experience running the software on various groups of students both in the US and abroad has demonstrated that students trust the technology and hence we can leverage this simple, yet powerful tool to get to know what is actually happening in their lives.
Data Harvesting
With the data from the students’ responses, we are able to create visual representations of student relationships both inside the classroom and online. We then proceed to use Sociograms* to show this data to educators.
We go a step further and have our dedicated in-house team analyze the results of every school’s sociograms and provide them with individualized recommendations. Our web application comes with a library of over 200 resources for counselors (activities, videos, and infographics) to be used for the aforementioned interventions.
Security
Data privacy is one of the most debated topics worldwide. However, at BRAVE UP!, we do not want to be part of those debates. We are a tool that seeks to have an impact on the life of students, not a data company.
This means that we do not access your student’s data for any purpose other than to give you the results. BRAVE UP! abides by the highest standards of the Student Online Personal Information Protection Act (SOPIPA)*, which specifically states that EdTech tools are to use student data only to provide the service specified in their scope.
